We help children communicate to the best of their ability while addressing speech, language, social communication, and feeding issues. Our staff is trained in using augmentative assistive technology, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), and sign language in order to facilitate communication, and all of our speech pathologists are licensed and have their Certificate of Clinical Competency. Our speech therapists and special instructors also have advanced training with hearing loss related to chronic ear infections, use of hearing aids, and cochlear implants. 

We help children eliminate disruptive, harmful, or negative behaviors and replace them with positive actions. Undesirable behaviors include biting, defiance, hitting, non-compliance during daily routines, self-injury, and tantrums. Our behavior interventionists actively listen to a family’s concerns and develop a collaborative plan to support the child’s needs, then teach and empower parents and caregivers to confidently implement behavior modification techniques on their own to encourage positive behaviors. We also specialize in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) services for children who show signs of or are diagnosed with autism.

With years of working specifically with young children who are deaf or hard of hearing, we provide parents with the necessary information and support to help their child achieve speech and language goals and make decisions about their amplification needs (such as cochlear implants or hearing aids). Our special instructors and speech and language pathologists are skilled at teaching parents how to navigate through the routines of everyday life when they care for a child whose hearing loss may have also delayed their spoken communication. A Teacher of the Deaf may use sign language if that is the communication choice the family desires for their child. 

We help children who demonstrate delays or deficits in gross motor development, strength, mobility, posture, or gait to maximize their physical abilities. Our licensed physical therapists help children develop critical motor skills such as rolling, sitting, crawling, walking, and running, as well as help parents learn how to best maintain the improvements they see in their children.

We help children achieve independence in their everyday routines and activities such as self-help (like dressing, eating and self-care), play, engaging with others, and participating in their environment. We also assist with fine motor skills, such as reaching, grasping, and manipulating objects. Our licensed occupational therapists are also trained to use the latest research-based sensory integration techniques to recognize and treat sensory issues, including feeding issues such as texture sensitivities and “picky eaters.” Our licensed occupational therapists help children with developmental disabilities, learning difficulties, sensory processing disorders, physical disabilities, autism, attention disorders, and many other challenges. Our goal is to help each child succeed in their daily routines and live life to the fullest.

We work with families to improve their child’s overall growth and development in areas such as play skills, behavior management, cognitive development, social interactions, and motor and language development. Special instructors are often assigned to a case when there is a language delay so they can work on the prerequisite skills needed before a child learns to talk.
